Fortnite’s Battle Royale’s 50v50 Mode has been delayed according to a statement from Epic Games. The developer for Fortnite revealed that while the limited-time game mode was intended to go live this weekend, the issues that the company has seen with account services are taking top priority.
“Due to account service issues we’ve been experiencing, and in order to preserve your play experience this weekend, we will be delaying it to next week,” reads a post on Reddit.
While 50 versus 50 does sound interesting, Epic is probably taking the right course of action here considering the recent downtime that the game has seen.
They even went as far as to offer free loot to players of Battle Royale and Save the World due to the extended downtime that the game saw over the last few days. Epic says that they expect to see further downtime ahead, and they’ll be explaining what caused the outage later next week.
Patch 3.5 recently released for Fortnite and it brought about a number of changes to the game. These include a replay feature for the game, the Port-a-Fort item, some new Cyberpunk character skins, neon weapons, and a number of fixes for Battle Royale and Save the World.
Unfortunately, players will need to wait until next week to face-off in 50v50 battles.
