As expected, the map has changed following the Season 4 update for Fortnite: Battle Royale. The meteor has landed and and it’s left a huge crater in the middle of the map. It has destroyed what was the Dusty Depot, which is now called the Dusty Divot.
A new location has also been added to the map in Risky Reels. Both new locations are pretty self explanatory when looking at the map. The Dusty Divot is a giant hole in the ground, smack dab in the middle of the map. Risky Reels is located on the Northeast edge of the map.
Alongside the map changes, Season 4 has added a bunch of new content for players to earn in the Battlepass. You can check out the seven new skins for Fortnite: Battle Royale here.
A lot of the changes that have come to Fortnite: Battle Royale with Season 4 were telegraphed pretty hard by Epic Games. The superhero costumes and map changes were expected by many to kick off the fourth season.
Though some were not. The crater is more than just a change to the way the map looks, but to the way the map plays as well. In it you’ll find “Hop Rocks” which allow players to consume these items and lift off with low gravity.
Inventory has changed as well, with a new drag and drop system that allows for quick rearrangement of items.
