Last we had heard from Bethesda, the company was working closely with Sony to bring the Skyrim Dawnguard expansion to the PS3.  As another week has passed, it doesn’t look like Bethesda is any closer to releasing the content on the console, despite having recently launched a new expansion on the Xbox 360 called Hearthfire.

Pete Hines of Bethesda explained that the developer may be seeing complications that include future DLC offerings for Skyrim.  Questions have been fired at Hines non-stop since Bethesda revealed “quality concerns” with Dawnguard on the PS3 and their decision to hold back the content.

Most recently, Hines was asked if the problems were an issue of “backwards compatibility or compatibility with future DLC on the platform”, at which he replied:

“It’s a matter of how it (Skyrim Dawnguard on PS3) works on its own. Other DLC does complicate things.”  From what it sounds like, there are no “quick fixes” for the problems on the PlayStation 3 version of Skyrim and the Dawnguard DLC.  Another week has gone by, and Bethesda is holding to its previous sentiments.

“We are gonna keep trying to get it to work,” said Hines.  “We haven’t given up yet!”
