Borderlands 2 developer, Gearbox Software is understandably working on something special for the Xbox 720 and PS4. Gearbox’s President Randy Pitchford recently confirmed his team’s excitement for the next generation in an interview with Gamasutra. Pitchford explained to the media outlet that his company has a “few things” going for PS4 and Xbox 720, elaborating on the potential of the next consoles “more power is always better,” Pitchford said.

“I’m always excited by movement forward. Some of that comes from iteration with our software, and some of it comes from iteration with hardware, and some of it comes from invention… each new step kind of gives us new tools and new capabilities that always makes the entertainment better, if we use it right.

More power is always better. There’s always things we can do that we cannot do today that we can do with more power. So, that’s always true.”

Before the next generation arrives, Gearbox has another big title on the way. Borderlands 2 is set to arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in September.
