Update: Microsoft has informed us that this was a misprint from GAME.
GAME in the UK is offering a very sweet pre-order bonus for Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Xbox One.
GAME announced on its official website: “Customers who purchase Gears of War Ultimate Edition Pre-purchase code will receive their codes after the 11th August 2015.
Gears of War Ultimate Edition will then be available to download ahead of launch and become playable on the 21st August 2015, One Week Early!”
Much like every other retailer too, you will also get access to the Gears of War 4 beta by pre-ordering the game as well. You will have to wait for that beta though because it’s not coming out until mid-2016.
Most retailers are just offering pre-order skins when you get Gears of War Ultimate Edition. GAME UK seems to be the only one that allow you to play the game early. Bear in mind this is for the digital copy for the game.
Playing the game early is something 2K is doing this year with NBA 2K16. People that pre-order that game are able to play it a few days before everyone else gets it too. Not to mention EA Access games are similar like that as well. Subscribers to EA Access can play new releases earlier than launch day.
