A new trademark recently filed by Blizzard Entertainment has been discovered for “Heroes of the Storm”. Discovered earlier by MMO Champion, it’s unclear just what Blizzard has up their sleeve for this new filing but a pattern suggests that this could be a new expansion for World of Warcraft.
Blizzard past filings ahead of BlizzCon fall in line with this lastest one. Both Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria were filed in similar fashion, just months ahead of the convention for all things Blizzard. 2011 saw the announcement and reveal for Mists of Pandaria, and BlizzCon will be rolling back around in November.
With Heart of the Swarm having already been released, Diablo’s Reaper of Souls already announced, and Hearthstone yet to be released, it’s likely that this will be the next expansion for WoW. BlizzCon 2013 takes place in Anaheim this November, where we could find out more information about what Heroes of the Storm is, officially.
