Following rumors last month which suggested that an Injustice 2 PC port was on the way, Warner Bros. has given those rumblings validity, announcing today that NetherRealm Studios’ popular DC Universe fighting game will arrive on Steam and the Windows Store this fall.
Here is a brief overview of the game via Warner Bros.:
Developed by the award-winning NetherRealm Studios, Injustice 2 features a massive roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. Players can fight their way across an epic Story Mode, ever-changing Multiverse and online multiplayer guilds – all while earning rare and valuable gear to fully customize their characters.
The Injustice 2 PC port will be handled QLOC — the same studio responsible for taking over the development of Mortal Kombat X’s PC version. NetherRealm Studios’ titles are known for having lackluster PC ports at launch, but this will likely not be the case this time around. As those familiar with MK X on the PC may recall, High Voltage Studios were the ones responsible for developing it at first before QLOC came along later to patch things up. Overall, the community was satisfied with QLOC’s efforts, so hopefully they’ll find Injustice 2’s PC port to be adequate right off the bat.
Technical details for the PC version have not been announced.
In addition to the fall release, an open beta will start tomorrow which users can participate in through Steam.
Injustice 2 is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
