Kingdom Hearts 3 was first unveiled after years of waiting at E3 2013 and we’ve gotten very little information or footage from the game since. That changed on Tuesday morning when Square Enix finally gave us a new trailer and the reveal of a new world. We’ve gotten a few more details since about the game and the latest is the possible return of a fan favorite feature from Kingdom Hearts 2.
Series director Tetsuya Nomura was recently interviewed at E3 by Destructoid following the latest trailer and was asked about Sora’s new clothing seen in the trailer and whether it may mean we’ll see the return of form changes again.
Nomura didn’t get a definite answer, but did say that they are currently looking at the possibility of bringing them back in Kingdom Hearts 3, as he really enjoyed designing the different looks for each.
These forms in Kingdom Hearts 2 were known as Drive Forms and switched up the entire gameplay mechanic with each one. This changed up the gameplay a lot and made the game feel different. However, we haven’t seen this again in any of the spinoffs or the follow-up Kingdom Hearts 3D.
It sounds like we’ll get even more on Kingdom Hearts 3 at D23, so hopefully even more news is on the horizon.
