Ever since Pokemon Go launched last year fans have been waiting for Niantic to add in some legendary Pokemon. At first we all thought Mewtwo or the three legendary birds might be added quickly, but as the weeks and months went on it was obvious it would take awhile. Well the wait might finally be over with a new Indian iOS ad seemingly leaking the upcoming release of the “first legendary Pokemon” in Pokemon Go.

First spotted on Reddit, the ad promotes the current Pokemon Go event that adds a special Ash hat wearing Pikachu to the game. Many expected legendary Pokemon to arrive some time soon as well, with this being the first anniversary and Niantic promising this to be a “legendary Summer.” If this ad is correct then the highly anticipated addition could come very soon.

Raids will likely be the method by which players can find, battle, and catch a legendary Pokemon. These newly added features have players teaming up to take on a very powerful creature, with victory offering special rewards and a chance to catch the Pokemon. Could Mewtwo, Moltres, Articuno, or Zapdos be popping up at nearby gyms? Hopefully the answer is yes and we can all get excited to play Pokemon Go again.
