Mass Effect: Andromeda Now Offers a Free Trial

If you’ve been holding off on purchasing Mass Effect: Andromeda because of its reception, you’ll now be able to try the game for an extended period of time for free on any platform. Those who already participated in the Origin free trial can still join this trial and just play the time they have remaining.

BioWare detailed the free trial over on Mass Effect’s website stating that players can download the full game and play up to 10 hours in Andromeda’s world. In single-player, people should be able to get through to the first planet. In addition, all multiplayer game modes are available to players in the trial as well. If you do decide that you enjoy Andromeda enough and want to purchase the full game, all progress is saved and will carry over so that you can pick up right where you left off.

Originally, only those with EA Access or Origin Access accounts could try out the game first before its release with a similar 10-hour trial.

Though Mass Effect: Andromeda certainly has a ton of content (I put over 70 hours into it) and the first 10 don’t even scratch the surface, some will be disappointed in a report that effectively said it will not receive any single-player DLC in the future, barring any changes that BioWare makes in its plans. This may be something to think about before purchasing.

Mass Effect: Andromeda’s 10-hour free trial lasts through November 1, 2017 and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is currently on sale on all systems for 50% off.
