Capcom has shared two new trailers for the upcoming Monster Hunter: World for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The first of the videos showcases a new location called Wildspire Waste, which features a wide variety of beasts to hunt, each of them with their own characteristics that makes players tackle a different strategy when facing each of them. The second video shows an example of what would be the normal routine for the game, with the player choosing their next quest, killing the beast, and then using the rewards to improve his or her equipment.
The Wildspire Waste is described as “a massive, dry expanse with swamplands,” where beasts have strategically adapted to the environment in order to survive. This location serves as a refuge for all kind of monsters of all sizes and who live in all terrains, including water. Some of the creatures that can be spotted in the video are the bird-like Kulu-Ya-Ku, who steals other monster’s eggs, and the Barroth, returning from other entries in the series.
The Game Cycle trailer offers a good preview of the gameplay for newcomers to the series, as it explains the four basic steps to play the game: The first one is taking on a quest, then clearing it, collect the rewards, and using them to improve or create new weapons and armors.
Capcom is going spend the next months giving continuous previews of the game, as the company will be showcasing it in the upcoming Gamescom, PAX West, and Tokyo Game Show.
Monster Hunter: World launches for PS4 and Xbox One on early 2018, with the PC version following later. Watch the new trailers below.
