Monster Hunter: World’s Final Fantasy Crossover Arrives In August

One of the biggest surprises at E3 this year was when Capcom announced that Monster Hunter: World will have a crossover event with Final Fantasy XIV; and now, thanks to producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, we know when it’s coming: in August.

The confirmation came as part of the 100th episode of MonHun Radio where Tsujimoto made a guest appearance to celebrate the milestone.

As you might recall, the upcoming collaboration will allow hunters to go up against one of the most iconic monsters in all of Final Fantasy: Behemoth. However, details about the encounter itself, such as whether it will be a regular hunt that can be done solo or a siege requiring the aid of several others, or if players will be able to forge new gear using its remains, are still unknown.

There are two things we can probably say for certain though: it will be big, perhaps the size of Deviljho (it’s carrying a Dodogama in its mouth!), and will likely try to drop a meteor or two on you at some point.

Fortunately, all our burning questions will be answered when Capcom shows it off at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba on July 15.

Monster Hunter: World is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
