PSVR title Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV has launched this week, and to mark the occasion Square Enix has not only worked on a traditional launch trailer, but has gone beyond traditional marketing duties to create a fake informercial in the style of TV ads from shopping networks. The video promotes the title in a comedic tone, presenting the game as the perfect solution to those fishing fans who just don’t want to deal with the hassle of actually going fishing. Say goodbye to the expensive equipment and mosquito bites, as you don’t need to leave your living room to go on your next fishing adventure.
Monster of the Deep is a spin-off of Final Fantasy XV, which further develops the fishing minigame that was present in the main adventure. The story of the game surrounds the appearance of a special kind of acuatic daemons, which are invading every pond, lake, and sea in the world of Eos. Eventually the custom character that players create is assigned the task of eliminating these evil beasts, and throughout his adventure he will receive the help of Noctis, Cindy, and the rest of characters well known to those who have played the main game.
The game adds depth to the fishing mechanics by adding new equipment, fishes, and reworking the capture mechanics in order to make them more intuitive with the use of the PS Move accessory. It also features different type of quests like story missions, special hunts, and simply free fishing.
Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV is out now for PSVR. Watch the infomercial and the launch trailer below.
