NBA 2K18 Graphics Improvements Revealed

NBA 2K graphics are being improved this year with NBA 2K18.  The developers of the game have just released a new developer diary that outlines all of the improvements that have been made for this year.

Joel Friesch, the Art Director for 2K18 says that ‘1000’s of hours have been put into the game to make it the best looking NBA game possible.’

Friesch describes a number of improvements, including improved all-around player accuracy.  He describes a multi-step approach that the developers took to get there, which includes a complete redesign of the body system, rebuilding of all of the player face models and the way that light reacts to the player eyes and teeth.

Uniforms and other gear have also been updated this year to be more realistic.  The cloth physics and fit have both been redesigned.  Accessories that players wear are detailed down to the smallest stitch, says Friesch.

NBA 2K18 launches on September 15th for those who pre-order the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.  Four days later for everyone else.
