One of the most talked about indie games from 2017 was Night in the Woods, a Lucas Arts-like adventure game by indie developer Infinite Fall. Currently, the game is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, Linux, Android devices and iOS devices. Now it’s coming to the one platform left, the Nintendo Switch.
Finji, the game’s publisher, announced earlier today (January 16) via Twitter that Night in the Woods will see a release on the Switch on February 1, making it one of a number of Switch ports to look forward to this year. Finji also explained that the the Switch port of the game will include the Weird Autumn content as well as the solstice side-games. Switch owners may notice that the game is listed on the Switch eShop with a release date of January 18, but note that Finji has addressed this and stated that this release date is wrong and will be updated soon.
Night in the Woods‘ story follows a cat named Mae who returns to her hometown to reconnect with old friends to discover that things aren’t quite the same as she had remembered. The game came out last year to critical acclaim, as well as going on to receive nominations at The Game Awards for Best Independent Game and Games for Impact.
