Today (January 11), there was a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini that presented a number of announcements about Nintendo Switch games past and future. For those who don’t want to read every article or watch the full 15-minute video, here are the basic points that were covered in the video (the full Nintendo Direct Mini video will also be at the end of this article for those who want to watch the whole thing). You can find out more about each individual announcement by clicking on the title of the game in each bullet point.
- A remastered version of the 2008 Nintendo DS action-RPG The World Ends With You, entitled The World Ends With You: Final Remix, will be released this year for the Switch. This game will also include a “sizable new scenario” not in the original game.
- Pokkén Tournament DX is receiving a DLC pack in two waves that will include new playable and support characters. Wave 1 comes out January 31 and Wave 2 comes out March 23.
- Kirby Star Allies will feature new abilities and received the release date of March 16.
- Kirby Battle Royale demo is currently available from the 3DS eShop.
- Dragon Quest Builders demo becomes available today from the Switch eShop.
- Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition was announced and will contain maps, characters and missions from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, as well as all DLC. It will launch this spring for the Switch.
- Mario Tennis Aces was announced and will launch on the Switch this spring.
- Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is coming to the Switch this summer.
- Super Mario Odyssey is getting a free multiplayer DLC sometime this February.
- SNK HEROINES Tag Team Frenzy is coming to the Switch sometime this summer.
- ACA NEOGEO ART OF FIGHTING 2 is available from the Switch eShop starting today.
- Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will include Donkey Kong as a playable character in a DLC pack coming sometime this spring.
- PAYDAY 2 is coming to the Switch on February 27 and will feature the character Joy as a timed exclusive.
- 3D platformer Fe is coming to the Switch on February 16.
- Retro action-platformer CELESTE is coming to the Switch on January 25.
- The Wii U’s Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be ported to the Switch on May 4 and will include the new character Funky Kong.
- Dark Souls Remastered is coming to the Switch on May 25.
