The NES Classic Edition console that offers Nintendo’s first home console in miniaturized form will launch next week, allowing gamers to relive the beginning of gaming’s most enduring company. There are 30 games pre-installed on the console that will bring plenty of nostalgia, but Nintendo has now done something else to take that nostalgia even further.
Nintendo has revealed that they are bringing back the Power Line during the console’s launch weekend, which will be live from November 11-13 and open from 6am – 7pm PT each day. For those who weren’t gaming back then, it was a service that you could call up to get helpful tips and tricks on whatever game you were stumped on. There were live Game Counselors you could talk to, as well as pre-recorded walkthroughs.
This version of the Power Line will be fully-automated, but if you dial (425) 885-7529 you’ll get game help as well as behind-the-scenes stories from the original Game Counselors. Seeing as this is a service that is long-gone now, it will be really cool to try it out and even hear about how the Game Counselors worked back then.
The NES Classic Edition will launch on November 11th and will cost $59.99. You can check out the complete list of pre-installed games by clicking right here.
