There Is A Petition For Super Smash Bros. For PS Vita…

by Damian Seeto

This might be one of the oddest stories you may encounter. Someone has made a legitimate petition to try and get Super Smash Bros. to the PS Vita platform.

The petition appears on and is titled “Port Smash Bros. 4 to the PS Vita”. He says that Nintendo NEEDS to port Super Smash Bros. to the PS Vita. The main reason specified is because Sony fans don’t want to purchase “an under-powered console” like the Nintendo 3DS.

He goes on to say that Sony fans would be glad to play a quality game like Super Smash Bros. however. He doesn’t like the fact that Nintendo has a “monopoly” on the series as there is “no competing title“.

Okay, whoever created this petition doesn’t know that Nintendo cannot simply port Super Smash Bros. to the PS Vita. The PS Vita is from the competing company (Sony) and it’s not possible. That’s like if Halo was to be ported to the PS4 one day…

Second of all, the PS Vita does have a competing title which was PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. The game came out in 2012 for the PS3 and PS Vita. The game didn’t sell that well unfortunately, which is why a sequel was never commissioned.

The person who created this petition should either buy a 3DS, or wait for the Wii U version of the game to come out instead. The chance of a Super Smash Bros. game releasing on the PS Vita is 0 percent.
