Rockstar support has just issued a statement for all owners of a PlayStation 3 12GB console. For anyone currently in possession of one of the aforementioned PS3 systems, a storage upgrade is necessary to continue enjoying content updates for Grand Theft Auto V’s mutliplayer component, also known as Grand Theft Auto Online. It comes as no surprise that the relatively small HDD included in these systems is clashing with one of the largest games ever released.
GTA V’s recent Flight School add-on and patch 1.16 combo, released on August 19th, will be the last title update available to this group of console players unless they upgrade their storage space. For those interested in doing so, instructions can be found here. Let’s be honest, if you’re only rocking 12GB of storage space, GTA V is probably the only game you’re currently playing. That is, unless you love uninstalling and reinstalling games as you switch between them.
It is worth noting that those uninterested in partaking in the online multiplayer aspect of Grand Theft Auto V can continue to play the single player story mode as is with no further updates. With all of the content planned for the game’s future, including Heists and a rumored zombie mode, you may find yourself too enticed to put off upgrading your hard drive any longer.
