Grand Theft Auto V May Bring Zombies to Los Santos, Teases OPM UK

It seems Grand Theft Auto V might see the addition of undead hordes in the near future, if the newly revealed Official PlayStation Magazine UK cover‘s teaser turns out to be true. As you can see, the cover lists Grand Theft Auto V under the “Zombie Outbreak” title, leading us to believe that zombie-themed DLC could make its way to Rockstar’s open-world title. However, the inclusion of the question mark following the game’s title could imply that it is simply a rumor they will be reporting on in the new issue.

The idea of the undead overrunning Los Santos isn’t too far-fetched if you take a look at Rockstar’s history. Of course, I’m talking about Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare expansion. The fusion of the Wild West and creatures of the night made for one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences. I mean, who didn’t enjoy riding a unicorn while decimating the infected and mythical creatures with revolvers? Rockstar could very well take this same concept and apply it to the larger scale world of GTA V. And that’s something that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has shown great interest in before. I think we could all agree that the potential for such DLC is vast.

Furthermore, rumors began to arise earlier this month with the discovery of lines of code which seemed to imply that single player zombie add-on content was on the way. In fact, many speculated that it is because of this DLC that heists are being pushed back so that Rockstar can release the content in October, targeting a near-Halloween launch similar to Undead Nightmare. The new OPM UK issues is set to release on September 2nd, leaving us to our own theories and guesses for another week. Be sure to check back with us after the new issue starts to arrive at subscribers’ doorsteps.
