One of the more surprising development over the last couple of years has been Nintendo’s push for the music of Pokemon on various fronts. The touring concert series has been great, but the best part has been the availability of various Pokemon soundtracks on Apple’s iTunes music service. Today that selection grows with the latest entries in the series, Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire whose soundtrack is now available to purchase.
The Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire: Super Music Collection is available on iTunes
This massive 160 song album features almost every sound found within both games. Everything from the Main Theme to individual battle songs for various locations and Legendary Pokemon. Given that the entire album can be purchased for $9.99, this seems like a fantastic deal for fans of the series, or simply for those who wish to explore deeper into the franchise.
Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon & Alpha Sapphire: Super Music Collection joins other soundtracks from the franchise, such as Pokemon X & Y, HeartGold & SoulSilver, and FireRed & LeafGreen. Apparently these releases have done rather well as Nintendo and Game Freak continue to push them out with each new game in the series. Hopefully their other properties will see a similar push in the years to come. I would love to see some more robust soundtrack releases for The Legend of Zelda and Mario, but there’s no way to tell if these soundtracks are mainly the work of Nintendo or Game Freak.
