Remember the PokéBall Plus accessory that launched with last year’s Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!? Well, it turns out that you’ll be able to use it, at least to a degree, for the upcoming main series games as well.
During Nintendo’s E3 presentation, it was revealed that Pokémon Sword and Shield will have some functionality with the PokéBall Plus accessory. It won’t be able to be used as a controller like in the Let’s Go games, but players will still be able to put one of their Pokémon from the new games in it and walk around with their buddy in the real world, potentially causing “something good” to happen.
The E3 showcase also saw the reveal of another Gym Leader who will appear in the new games, Nessa, who specializes in Water-types. Nessa has one of the recently revealed Pokémon, Drednaw, on her team and will be able to Dynamax it in battle. A demo in which players will be able to take on Nessa is available this week at Nintendo’s E3 booth.
Last week, a ton of information about the upcoming games was revealed, including new Pokémon, the new Dynamax feature, and a look at some of the new characters. Pokémon Sword and Shield will launch for the Nintendo Switch on November 15.
