id Software’s free annual party for shooter afficianados has been announced for 2012.  This August, QuakeCon will return to Dallas, Texas for the celebration of all things id.  Not much was announced other than date at this time, but expect plenty of tournaments, panels, and likely big news by the associated companies that’ll be there like Bethesda.

“Bethesda Softworks will offer the first chance anywhere for gamers to get their hands on upcoming titles, and the world’s leading technology companies will be on hand to demonstrate their latest hardware and software. Every day of QuakeCon is packed with contests, entertainment, announcements, panel discussions, and parties!”

What upcoming titles these will be?  Well the company definitely has at least two big ones in the works with the impressive Prey 2 and the mysterious new IP, Dishonored.  The convention will be held August 2-5 at the Anatole Hilton in Dallas.
