Rumor: Destiny 2 Story Details Leaked

Destiny 2 is getting a full reveal in short order, but some new information has purportedly leaked out ahead of schedule.  Over on Reddit, in a thread that has now been deleted, details about the story and the potential contents of the special editions of the game have been “revealed.”

We’ll get to the goodies included in the various version of Destiny 2 in a bit, but first the alleged story stuff.  Here’s what the leaker had to say, “The last city on Earth has fallen before an overwhelming invasive force under Ghaul, the towering commander of the Red Legion. Guardians are running out of power, and the few survivors have left. You will venture in mysterious, uncharted worlds from the Solar System to discover devastating weapons and combat abilities. In order to defeat the Red Legion and face Ghaul, you will need to gather the surviving heroes from the City and fight back together to claim back home.”

The leaker initially said that the information comes from a “popular retailer.”  If true, the leak also reinforces previous leaks that Destiny 2 will be on PC as they did show off the box art for the PC version of the game.

As for the contents of the Collector’s and Limited Editions, we’ll post those below:

• Collector’s edition cabal themed premium box, including a notebook, a map, and collectibles such as postcards and “pawns from the Empire”

Destiny 2 Limited Edition

• Destiny 2 base game

• The previously explained DLC
• The steelbook
• The premium box and all the stuff inside

We won’t have to wait too long to find out if these rumors are true or not.  Destiny 2 is set to be officially revealed on March 30th at 10am PT.
