A woman asked the police for assistance over something unexpected. Apparently, she was driving but pulled over and parked at the side of the road, saying she saw a bug inside her cabin. As a result, the woman panicked, and according to the video she shared on TikTok, she stopped the cops who were driving past her and asked them to “kill” the bug. The footage gained significant traction online, and viewers reacted to her panicking as the cop tried to help.
As seen in the video, the woman shows her car’s cabin, saying that there is a “big a** black bug” inside and that she thought the cops were going to drive past her. She also claims that she has a recording of the bug so officers don’t think she’s “crazy.” As the woman shows her car, a police SUV is parked behind her, and an officer checks the car cabin with a flashlight for the bug. But as soon as the woman says that she doesn’t want to drive this car, she screams, “Ah.”
The woman steps aside from the vehicle’s door and screams, “It’s right there. Ah, look at it! It’s right here. It’s right there. For real. It was on my head.” Per the footage, the officer smiles and proceeds toward the spot where the woman claimed the bug is sitting. “Officer, don’t fall, please,” says the woman as he takes his baton out. While it’s unclear in the video, the cop whips the baton on the door, and it appears that the bug was gone as the woman sounds relieved. The overlay of the video said, “POV you stop the police to kill a bug in my car.”
The woman shows the bug later in the video
As the officer uses his baton on her vehicle’s door, the woman screams, “Don’t bust my window.” Apparently, the problem is solved when she immediately thanks the officer for helping her. She asks the officer if he saw how big the insect was, to which he agrees. The woman sounds quite relaxed, thanking the officer multiple times until she gets in her car and drives away, saying, “I love the police.”
After that, the clip cuts to the part where she shows the bug. The video gained significant traction on TikTok, garnering over 4 million views. Some commenters identified the bug as “Cicada,” as one stated, “It’s a Cicada bug. They don’t bite. But I don’t doubt I would’ve reacted the same way if I didn’t know what it was. you calling out the other officer for not being his backup had me rolling!”
If it really was a Cicada, then according to Spiderzoon, the insect is harmless. While it looks dangerous to some because of its strange shell, size, and unusual noise, it’s harmless and reportedly plays a vital role in nature. Apart from identifying the bug, others seemed sarcastic towards the woman’s reaction. One said, “It was a cicada yall. Just be happy it wasn’t screaming.”
Another said, “Unironically this is what cops SHOULD be doing.” One person also mentioned, “My taxes at work.” This seemed to be the audience’s feedback on the bug concern. The woman has not shared a follow-up video in which she’s replying to these comments.
