Shenmue 3 has gone quite a while withouth giving in-depth updates on its development, aside of the regular reports of posted by the team. However, this will change at this year’s Gamescom, where Ys Net will debut new movie clips, the latest updates and even make some “new announcements” concerning the hotly-anticipated game.
The news come from a new entry in the Progress Updates section of the official website, detailing the latest developments in the project. Another one of them is the change of the logo for a new version that looks more polished without giving away the traditional feel of the original.
The report also gives a glimpse into the designs of some of the new characters, including some described as a “strong-willed girl,” a middle-age woman, and an old man with facial hair.
The game was recently delayed to the second half of 2018 from its original 2017 release, but hopefully the upcoming announcements indicate that the development is not finding any additional issues. This year’s Gamescom will take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 22 to August 26.
Shenmue 3 will release for PS4 and PC in 2018.
