It appears we have to wait until closer to Fall 2015 in order to see the third and possibly final trailer for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens.
The cast and crew for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens were all at a special panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con event. The movie’s director, J.J. Abrams said we will have to wait until the Fall for the new trailer.
As a special bonus, they instead released new behind the scenes footage from the movie. There is an emphasis to use more practical effects like in the original trilogy. Abrams described more about this during the discussion panel.
He said it was really important for the actors to interact and see real objects. They even brought out an animatronic alien puppet on stage for everyone to see and take photos of.
Later in the panel, John Boyega (who plays Finn) said filming inside of a Stormtrooper suit in the heat of Tunisia was hard and exhausting. This was all part of the realism of the movie as filming on location is more believable than on set with lots of green screen around.
The discussion panel did not reveal many new details of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens as they didn’t want to spoil anything. Adam Driver (who plays Kylo Ren) was suspiciously quiet during the whole thing.
One minor spoiler did kind of pop up and that’s the name of the First Order’s base. Their headquarters will be called “Starkiller Base”. This is a reference to the original last name of Luke Skywalker.
Apart from that, it looks like we have to wait a little while longer for more details about the film.
