Donnie Yen Talks Why He Was Interested In Star Wars: Rogue One Role

Donnie Yen is best known to most people for starring in the popular Ip Man film series. The actor has now responded to what attracted him to star in Star Wars: Rogue One.

Yen was interviewed by JayneStars and there were a few reasons why the role in Star Wars: Rogue One attracted him so much. He said: “It was never really about the money. I picked up those jobs because they were a rare opportunity. I did Rogue One because my kids are huge fans of Star Wars. 

As much as Yen loves his kids, he said he is unable to see them for Father’s Day this year because he is still busy doing work for Star Wars: Rogue One.

“I can’t. My wife and I will be flying to Japan in two days for a project. After that, I’ll be flying all over the place for some more work. I’m going to have to go back to London soon too, to do some additional photography for Rogue One.”

It’s possible Yen will be back in London so the marketing team has promotional material for them to use to advertise the movie. The Star Wars Celebration Europe event is happening very soon plus Comic Con is on the horizon as well.
