Stardew Valley is heading to the Nintendo Switch on October 5th, per an announcement from the developers. The game will cost $14.99 on the Nintendo Switch and will be the first time that Stardew Valley has appeared on either a portable system or a Nintendo platform.
According to the devs, they’re very happy to finally release on a Nintendo console. From the announcement, “I’m very happy to see Stardew come to a Nintendo console… I grew up on Nintendo, after all!”
The Nintendo Switch port for Stardew Valley was developed by Sickhead Games.
Next on the horizon for Stardew Valley is a multiplayer update that is slated to arrive in early 2018. A beta test is planned for this new mode, and what’s been revealed about it has been minimal. A couple months back the developers revealed that the multiplayer update will roll out next year and allow players to build up to three cabins on your farm. Each cabin will feature a farmhand that can be controlled by one of your friends.
This announcement revealed that the multiplayer patch would eventually come to the Nintendo Switch version of Stardew Valley after releasing first on PC.
Look for Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch on October 5th. The game is currently available on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One.
