Street Fighter V is officially out and getting solid reviews around the board (including from us), but one thing that many critics are noting is the lack of content on-hand at launch. There are plenty of new features planned to release post-launch, but many wish that more of those features were ready from the get-go.
However, one of those post-launch features is the full-on story mode that is set to be released by Capcom this June. A new video has been released by the producers that discuss many facets of the game, but one in particular is the game’s incoming story mode that the developers claim is nearing the end of its development phase.
The producers say that each character has what serves as prologue stories for what has launched in the game this month, with their stories expanding with the DLC that will come four months after launch. They also mention that the story mode’s timeline falls in between Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV. They jokingly say that this DLC is so huge that they could release it as its own game, before reiterating that it will be free.
Street Fighter V is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC. Check out the Producer’s Message video below.
