Gamers who played The Elder Scrolls Online while it was in open beta, before it had a subscription model, will soon get the opportunity to play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited without purchasing the game for a promotional weekend.

Called the Welcome Back Weekend promotion, Bethesda are inviting gamers to give the game a go now it is buy to play, rather than the monthly subscription model which was originally used. The promotion is set to last from 10:00 EST (15:00 GMT) on April 16th until 10:00 EST (15:00 GMT) on April 20th.

Some gamers have reported that instead of simply receiving a code they have had the following automated email from Bethesda, explaining that the code has been automatically added to their account:

“We have applied a redemption code toward your account for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Your account has been reactivated for the duration of our Welcome Back Weekend promotion. You’ve successfully redeemed a code for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. We’re applying it to your account now! Your receipt and further details can be found below.”

If you have received this email do not panic with it saying that both you have personally applied a code to the account and that Bethesda has too, this is simply an issue with the automated redemption email.
