Could Titanfall 2 Be A Timed Exclusive For Xbox One?

Titanfall released last year exclusively for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on the console side, along with a release for PC. This was due to an exclusivity agreement made with Microsoft that prevented the game from ever coming to PlayStation platforms. However, Respawn Entertainment has stated numerous times that the deal was for just the first game, so most everyone expected the eventual Titanfall 2 to arrive on PlayStation 4 as well. However, one analyst believes that Microsoft could once again get one up on Sony with the sequel.

Wedbush Securities’ often maligned Michael Pachter was interviewed by GamingBolt on this very topic, where he made some very interesting statements about the game. Pachter believes that we will probably see Titanfall 2 revealed at E3 2016 for a Holiday 2017 release date. Also, he says he has no doubt it will be multi-platform, but he thinks that “Microsoft will offer something for a timed exclusive.”

Pachter is also the one that just recently came out and said that he believes the Rise of the Tomb Raider timed exclusivity cost Microsoft $10 million or more, so the success of that later this year could very well pave the way for them to possibly do the same with Titanfall 2. Either way, it will likely be awhile before we learn more about the game itself or any release information.
