Electronic Arts has secured the publishing rights for the next Titanfall game. Reports from Polygonand Gamespot confirm that the publisher will once again handle publishing for Respawn Entertainment, but this time around, it doesn’t look like the game will be limited to the Xbox platforms and PC.
According to unnamed sources, Titanfall 2 will not be a Microsoft exclusive, though Electronic Arts has neither confirmed nor denied the rumor.
It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Titanfall 2 arrived on the PlayStation 4 whenever the inevitable sequel arrives. Leading up to launch last year, Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment explained his intention of making games for all platforms, and implied that a sequel to the shooter would indeed arrive on Sony’s new console.
While it might be a little too early to start talking sequel for Titanfall. The Xbox One and PC versions launched just days ago, but the game saw a critical reception that’ll likely stack the deck in favor of at least a second offering. The Xbox 360 version of Titanfall has still yet to be released, and recently saw another delay, moving the game to April 8th.
