For the first time, the Trackmania series appears to be heading towards the Xbox One and Playstation 4 as Trackmania Turbo. Unveiled midway through the Ubisoft’s E3 show, viewers were treated to ninety second trailer before a live gameplay demonstration took place.
Trackmania Turbo’s one-press track generation was the focus of the demo. Terrain, track, and the series’ distinctive signage were set out against the Island environment, generating a short, high-flying track. The track proved too much for an initial attempt, but when played to completion showed off the gravity-defying madness that the series is known for.
A release date was confirmed by the Trackmania Turbo official website. It will be released on the 27th of November, 2015 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. A listing on the Uplay store has appeared, but we have not yet been able to access it. The Uplay store is under understandably heavy demand at present, and runs very slowly. If you’re a Trackmania diehard, the game’s trailer alone should make the crawl through molasses worth it.
