The release date for the closed beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division has now been confirmed on Xbox One. The rumored late January release date turned out to be true.
On the official Tom Clancy’s The Division Facebook page, Ubisoft confirmed that the Xbox One will be getting the closed beta on January 28th, 2016. The Xbox One is the first platform to receive the beta.
The date falls in line with the rumor we posted a few days ago that the closed beta will be starting on January 29th. The rumor was for the PC version so it’s likely Xbox One gamers are getting the beta a day earlier. PC and PS4 gamers have to wait until January 29th to play the beta.
Ubisoft made a deal with Microsoft so that the Xbox One gets special treatment in regards to The Division. A day early isn’t too long, but Xbox One gamers will be able to play the beta before anyone else can.
The beta is important so that Ubisoft can try and fix all of the bugs before the game comes out. The last thing Ubisoft wants to do is release a broken game. They upset people with Assassin’s Creed Unity so they don’t want to make the same mistake again.
