The producer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow dropped a major hint this week about the possibility of a 2012 sequel in the works. Â Computer and Video Games listed “Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2” as one of its most anticipated games of 2012, and the producer for the unannounced game replied with a simple “No comment,” via Twitter.
Since Cox didn’t outright deny the claims that CVG laid out, it wouldn’t take a huge stretch of the imagination to believe that Konami would be striking while the Castlevania iron is hot. Â The 2010 release saw mixed reviews, with some gamers falling head over heels for the completely revisited franchise and the story of Gabriel Belmont. Â While the game was loosely based on the classic arcade styles of the franchise’s roots, the game felt more like a modern day hack and slash with a nice mixture of combat, platforming, and puzzle solving.
While its just a rumor right now, don’t be surprised if  Konami announces something in 2012 about a release of the sequel.
