Bandai Namco has released a new trailer of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory with English subtitles. The video is 8 minutes long, which is more than enough to offer gameplay footage of exploration, story cutscenes, battles, and many other features, providing a well-rounded overview of this new game following the steps of the acclaimed first Cyber Sleuth.
The unnamed protagonist of this new game is a user of the digital world EDEN who gets his account hacked and framed for a crime he has not committed. Desperate to clean his name, he joins a group of hackers known as Hudie, who describe themselves as the “repairman” of the digital world, taming Digimon and using them to solve the problems of both the digital and the real world. This is a clear difference with the original entry in which players took the role of private investigators of issues involving the digital world. Some characters from the previous game will also make an appearance in this one, such as Nokia and the hacker organization Zaxon.
Just like in Cyber Sleuth, battles are played in turns, with each Digimon having their own level and set of skills. They can be trained in the DigiFarms by the player or leaving them to work by themselves. A new feature of Hacker’s Memory are the Domination Battles, in which rival groups of hackers fight to control more server space in the digital world by using strategy and their digimons. The DigiLab’s Matchmaking System will also let players fight other trainers around the world online. You can even invite your own friends to fight. Rewards include accesories to change the appearance of our own Digimon!
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory launches in Japan for PS4 and PSVita on December 14, and in North America and Europe on January 19, 2018. Watch the new trailer below.
