The Call of Duty series has been a juggernaut in the gaming industry for many years now, with a new game coming out each and every year that ends up being a huge success. While the series shows no signs of slowing down, if you ask Activision the series will never come to an end.
Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick recently spoke with Marketplace about the series, where he said the following:
“We’ve had Call of Duty games played on virtually every console for the last 14 years. So the idea of having a game that centers around armed conflict through history…you never run out of ideas for Call of Duty games. There will always be Call of Duty games. And they’ll be played on a variety of devices.”
The way things are going now it definitely would be crazy to assume that the Call of Duty series will suddenly crash and burn, but it’s also crazy to think that a new game in the series will come out each year for eternity. That’s a whole lot of Call of Duty.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the upcoming game in the series, which takes things into space and is being developed by Infinity Ward. That and Modern Warfare Remastered will launch on November 4th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
