Update: Microsoft has now announced the official release date will be October 27th, 2015.
Amazon Spain may have leaked out a possible release date for Halo 5: Guardians earlier this week.
A Reddit user spotted that the site listed that Halo 5: Guardians will be out on September 10th, 2015. This is around the same time that Destiny came out last year. This did wonders for the game as it sold millions of copies for Bungie and Activision.
The interesting part about Amazon Spain’s listing is that it was a temporary one. The link to the site now has reverted back to a generic December 31st release date. Z-Giochi.com managed to catch a screengrab of Amazon Spain showing the September release date for Halo 5: Guardians. Did Microsoft ask them to remove the date, or was it wrong from the beginning?
When you think about it, a September 2015 release for Halo 5: Guardians could be a good thing for Microsoft. It will kickstart the huge Fall 2015 lineup with a bang along with Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Microsoft could use October 2015 to release Forza 6, while November 2015 might be when Rise of the Tomb Raider comes out. Halo 5: Guardians releasing in September also helps its avoid competition from other FPS titles like the annual Call of Duty game and EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront.
Halo 3 came out in the month of September and it remains to be the best selling game of the entire series worldwide. A September release might also give the Xbox One a boost before the Holiday rush kicks in too.
