Xbox Game Pass will add eight new games through the month of May, including the brand new title State of Decay 2 when it hits stores on May 22nd. The Game Pass has looked like one of the best deals in gaming and explains a lot of the moves Microsoft has made with their console. The addition of another freshly released game, the last one being Sea of Thieves, just shows that the company is very serious about this new subscription service.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring State of Decay 2 to Xbox Game Pass members on May 22, the same day as its global release, as we continue to build our commitment to deliver the ultimate gaming membership for our fans,” reads the announcement. “We’re also thrilled to announce the futuristic sports game Laser League will be making its debut on Xbox Game Pass the same day it launches in the Microsoft Store on May 10. But wait, there’s more! For soccer fans we kick off May with Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 which joins Xbox Game Pass May 1 through August 31.”

So Xbox Game Pass will actually receive two brand new games at their release. We’ve seen stuff like this before with Sony’s PlayStation Plus and Microsoft’s Xbox Live Games with Gold, but never for huge titles like Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2.

It’s also interesting to note in the announcement that PES 2018 will launch with an expiration date already in mind. It’s always been clear that some games would not remain on Xbox Game Pass indefinitely, but this is new as far as I can remember.

If this was enough to push you over the edge into subscribing then be sure to check out the deals currently available. These include a two week free trial and your first month for $1. Normal monthly rates are $9.99.
