Xbox Live’s Major Nelson has sent out his monthly update for what games will be offered for free in September. The Xbox Live Games with Gold program has been a bit underwhelming at times, and while this month doesn’t knock it out of the park, there are a few titles that might intrigue gamers. In September there will be three new games offered for free between the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Super Time Force will be added as a free option on Xbox One, and Crimson Dragon will stay free after being introduced last month. The other two additions to Xbox Live Games with Gold will be Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine and Halo: Reach, both on Xbox 360.
Xbox Live Gold members can look forward to three new free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Monaco is normally priced at $14.99, but will be free starting on September 1st. Halo: Reach will take its place on September 16th, so be sure you download the game before then. Monaco should be a fun co-op experience, and has a really interesting and unique art style that should impress. Including Halo: Reach is an interesting inclusion considering most fans would already have the title. If you don’t already own it though, it is a great game to pick up, especially for free.
Personally, nothing is too impressive this month for me. Dishonored was a great inclusion last month that raised my expectations a little for the Xbox Live Games with Gold program. Unfortunately I don’t feel like Microsoft continued that momentum in September. What do you guys think though? Did Halo: Reach somehow miss your collection and now you’ll get to experience the adventures of Noble Team? Does Super Time Force look fun? I think it does, so I’ll be grabbing it when it becomes available on September 1st.
