PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting an update today that will expand on Squad Mode, allowing players different ways to play the game. According to the developers for PUBG, the update will open the option to play Squad mode in a 1,2, or 3-man squad without having to wait in matchmaking for other players.
The Squad Mode update should be live at 3AM PST / 12PM CET.
Those who’ve been playing Squad in PUBG for Xbox One with three players looking for a fourth know that this is certainly a welcome update. This had been resulting in long waits for games and ,in many cases, uncooperative teammates who didn’t feel much like a part of your squad at all. Regardless, it sounds like those problems will be long gone once this update arrives.
As for the myriad of other problems PUBG is facing on the Xbox One? This is second day we’ve heard news about the game getting an update, in a row. Just yesterday a server side update was pushed to try and combat network lag and hard crashes.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available on the Xbox One and PC. The Xbox One version is part of the Xbox Preview Program, so it’s a work in progress. The PC version, that just went into full release earlier this month with version 1.0.
