At the launch of the Nintendo Wii U a little over two years ago, Nintendo offered two different models of the console, one of which was the superior Deluxe 32 GB edition. With that edition also came something special, known as the Nintendo Deluxe Digital Promotion. With this promotion, players would basically earn back 10% on all digital eShop purchases on the Wii U only. At its inception, the program was said to end at the conclusion of 2014, which it did, but luckily for those that may have forgotten to redeem your points for credit, the redemption period lasts for a few more months.
As we have moved into the new year, the Deluxe Digital website still remains up with the following message:
- [NOTE] The Deluxe Digital Promotion will be discontinued on April 1, 2015. Please exchange your points for an activation code by March 31, 2015. Activation codes must be redeemed in the Nintendo eShop by June 30, 2015.
This note at first led to the belief by many that the promotion itself was extended to April 1, but the site still says otherwise that it ended on December 31, 2014. Instead, gamers have a chance to redeem their unused credit for use on either the Wii U or 3DS eShop, even though the points were only able to be earned on the former. If you have bought anything over the last couple years on the Wii U eShop, even if it was a free code from something like Club Nintendo, make sure to check out the Deluxe Digital website to get your free eShop credit.
