New Wii U games will be revealed in the next Nintendo Direct conference from Satoru Iwata on January 23rd. The Nintendo Direct conference will be focused on the Wii U, and will be streamed live at 9 a.m. ET this Wednesday. You can find the Nintendo Direct Stream here, for the latest announcements.

It doesn’t come soon enough for Wii U fans, who’ve already become vocal about the lull in new releases for the recently launched console. It’s hard to tell what Nintendo has up their sleeve for the event, but new games to look forward to on the Wii U can’t be a bad thing.

Nintendo recently confirmed their first quarter releases for the Wii U, and you can find the whole list of 2013 Wii U releases here.

The wait won’t be much longer for new games on the Wii U. February and March hold key launches for the console. Rayman Legends, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Lego City: Undercover, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate are all scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2013.

Capcom also confirmed today that they will be releasing Resident Evil Revelations on the Wii U. The game is due out this May, and hopefully they didn’t spoil Mr. Iwata’s surprise for Nintendo Direct viewers.
