A TikToker says 5 people vanished inside a corn maze for nearly 6 hours, then walked out convinced they’d only been gone 40 minutes

A TikToker shared a story about five people who allegedly disappeared inside a corn maze for nearly six hours, only to emerge convinced they had been gone for about 40 minutes. The video has racked up millions of views and thousands of comments on TikTok.

As detailed by The Daily Dot, TikTok user @justkhandee recounted an experience submitted by another user named Kelzie, who worked at a family-owned farm with a corn maze. The maze usually took visitors about 30 to 40 minutes to finish, and the account has not been independently verified.

The group, made up of a father and four teenagers between 15 and 16 years old, entered the maze at 9:17 PM. Kelzie reportedly remembered the exact time because they were some of the last visitors allowed in that evening.

Staff couldn’t find anyone in a maze that took 40 minutes to finish

By 10:30 PM, the farm started closing down, but the group hadn’t returned. At first, employees weren’t worried, as people often lingered to take photos or goof around. When staff searched the entire maze, including employee-only passageways, they couldn’t find anyone.

As midnight approached, management started making calls and eventually brought in emergency services. Fire trucks, police, and more people soon searched the field. Someone had contact information for one of the parents, and phones were called repeatedly, with most going straight to voicemail.

At 3:07 AM, the group reportedly walked out through the maze’s regular exit, all five of them together. Nobody looked injured or was carrying anything, though they appeared confused. One of the two girls saw the emergency vehicles and asked what had happened.

Employees initially suspected the group was playing a prank until the father checked his phone. The group reportedly believed they had been inside the maze for about 40 minutes, not several hours.

The group claimed they had gotten turned around early on and eventually stopped in what they called a clearing. One of the girls said she could hear voices calling out, and the group joked that someone else must have gotten lost, not realizing the voices were calling their names. She added that every time they tried walking toward the voices, they seemed to move further away.

Khandee, retelling Kelzie’s account, explained that there was no clearing in that maze. Kelzie had worked there for two full seasons, and the farm owners designed that year’s maze without any open spaces, benches, or scarecrows where the group described them. Despite this, the group insisted the clearing was real and said they returned to it several times while trying to find their way out.

It was in this clearing that one of the girls noticed her bracelet was missing, and she assumed it had fallen off while they pushed through the corn. The farm closed for the season a few weeks later, and the bracelet was found once the maze was cut down.

The bracelet was reportedly recovered from a section of the field that had been planted solid, with no trail ever cut through it. That spot was nowhere near where visitors would have walked.

Many viewers said corn mazes already unsettle them, with one commenter writing, “There is something just off about corn mazes they are extremely creepy.” Another said, “I was in a corn maze but during the day I will never go in one at night.” The story spread during Halloween season, amid another viral TikTok about a man with a broom staring at a woman in a food court.

Others said they had heard similar stories before. One commenter wrote that they had heard of people entering cornfields or mazes and emerging hours later without realizing how much time had passed.
