In history books, we have seen famous rappers end up in violence, but in recent times, things have seemed peaceful in this regard. However, trouble seems to knock on the door once again due to the recent shooting incident involving Cardi B’s ex-husband, Offset. The artist was shot shortly after he was simply posing with his fans at a casino in Florida. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he has survived and is en route to recovery.
According to Page Six, TMZ first reported that Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Police confirmed the news and declared that a bullet had hit the rapper. Still, it was not a life-threatening shot as Offset was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. Police even added that, acting immediately, they had arrested two suspects involved in the crime. The investigation is ongoing, and the motives behind this attack are still unknown.
Seminole County Police stated, “We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.” They added, “Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure, and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”
The attack on Offset is a major setback, as he is already deep in the struggles of his bitter divorce
An assault on Offset is a major setback for him, as he is already going through a lot of personal life stuff lately. Offset has recently finalized his divorce from his wife, Cardi B, after long struggles and a lot of back-and-forth allegations of infidelity. Following Cardi B’s issues with the DHS, the dispute regarding her children with Offset has not been finalized yet. Now, this shooting incident seems to add more to the rapper’s difficulties.
Offset is not the only one from his band who was shot, as his Migos bandmate, Takeoff, was also shot in November 2022. Unfortunately, he couldn’t survive and was at a bowling alley around 2:30 a.m. after an altercation broke out over a dice game. Offset was also shot in the same manner when he was posing with his fans, but he was not involved in the altercation. One of the rapper’s attendants has reported about his well-being in the assault, saying, “currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.
There has been a lot of speculation on why Offset was shot, but police have refrained from giving the details on whether this incident was a hate crime or was it actually a planned attack on the rapper coordinated by his enemies. The details would come out when the trial starts, but until then, everything regarding the detailed story would remain speculation. Whatever the reason, this incident has added to the struggles of an artist already dealing with personal issues.
