Hooters servers reveal the instant way to become their favorite customer, and you can start by not treating them as ‘the hot chick’ from high school

Some great tips here.

In a recent TikTok video, many servers from a Hooters location in Colorado shared a list of “green flags” they look for in guests, revealing the little actions that make certain patrons stand out in the best possible way, as covered by BroBible. If you want that speedy drink refill or a little extra attention, you’re going to want to follow these guidelines.

Before we dive into the perks, we absolutely have to talk about the main things that land you on the “red flag” list. The biggest takeaway from the staff is that respect is non-negotiable. One server publicly reminded customers that they need to treat the staff like they would treat any other restaurant worker. That means ditching the creepy behavior.

You should never ask for a server’s phone number, nor should you ask if they are “on the menu.” They are absolutely not flirting with you just because they are doing their job, so please leave those assumptions at the door.

That kind of behavior is awful, and it’s a quick way to ensure you get the bare minimum service

Another waiter shared a surprisingly specific complaint: stop treating them like a target for high school revenge. She explained that some people are just flat-out mean, and it seems to be because they want “some revenge against ‘the hot chick’ from their high school.” She clarified, “I wasn’t the hot chick from their high school?”

Now that we’ve covered the basics of good manners, let’s talk about the fun stuff that gets you noticed. If you’re looking to order a round of shots, server Paige says she absolutely loves it when guests go for the top-shelf tequila, naming Clase Azul or 1942 specifically. Another server suggested that you should definitely pick up one of the chain’s calendars. She tries to convince guests to buy them so she can “show off” her co-workers who modeled in it.

✅ We’re calling out some guest green flags! Clase Azul? Iconic. Donating to charity? Love that. Remembering our name without the bev nap cheat code? Unreal behavior. If you’ve ever bought a calendar just to support your fave Hooters Girl – this one’s for you. 🧡 We see you! 🫶🏼

Of course, tipping is huge. Server Kelsey offered a great tip with a wink, saying she appreciates it “When they tip like a gentleman, and they know the game.” However, you don’t always have to break the bank to make a top-tier impression. There are some non-monetary ways to get a server’s attention, too, and they show you’re genuinely invested in the experience.

One easy method is simply remembering their name if you’ve been served by them before. That shows genuine recognition and respect, which is huge in a fast-paced environment. Another fantastic move is supporting the chain’s charity efforts. One server noted that she always sees guests who donate to the chain’s charity fundraisers, and that’s a definite green flag.

If you want to ensure you see your favorite server again, you can definitely request their section on a repeat visit. Paige says she appreciates it when customers tell her they’ll be back to see her, but there’s a crucial caveat: it has to be done “in a charming way and not a stalkerish way.”

Conversely, the absolute hardest customers to deal with are often the ones who are too far gone. One server noted that while the regulars are usually respectful, “anyone who is drunk can be a pain to work with.” She added that if they take things “too far,” they will be asked to leave.

Ultimately, the key to getting great service is recognizing that Hooters servers are professionals. If you treat them with respect, tip appropriately, and maybe splurge on a nice tequila shot, you’re going to have an excellent experience.
