The UFC White House card, which Dana White has planned for Trump’s birthday, is still quite far. But it looks like another boxing showdown linked to a Trump label could also take place. This is because Hunter Biden, the former president Joe Biden’s son, has challenged Donald Trump’s sons to a cage fight. If it really happened, this unexpected move could become one of those moments when the rivalry between the two families is evident.
Biden wasn’t the one who got the idea; according to USA Today, the YouTuber/journalist behind Channel 5, Andrew Callaghan, was the one who came up with the suggestion. He told the former president’s son that he’s thinking of organizing a showdown against the Trump brothers.
When Hunter came across this offer, he said, “I told him I’d do it, 100% in, if he can pull it off.” While the original idea wasn’t from Biden himself, these words suggest he’s quite enthusiastic and confident to go against the Trump brothers in a ring. As of yet, neither Donald Trump Jr. nor Eric Trump has agreed to this MMA-style “cage fight.”
Hunter wants to fight the Trump brothers just when he is going through deep financial trouble?
The former president’s son hasn’t officially filed for bankruptcy, but sources suggest he’s struggling with significant financial trouble. Per the New York Post, it’s currently challenging for Hunter Biden to even pay his lawyers for his past criminal cases, but at the same time, he’s challenging the Trump brothers to a fight. Neither he nor the sources confirms that he’s up for this fight to potentially fix his financial condition with the money generated, but some might link the two events.
The question is how a person whose father has been the president of the United States can reach this level of financial struggles. Well, a Washington, D.C., law firm, Winston & Strawn, sued Hunter over unpaid legal fees from his federal tax and gun-crime defense cases, with bills reportedly in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Hunter Biden’s current lawyer, Barry Coburn, told a judge that Biden is broke and cannot afford additional experts, such as a billing consultant or a forensic accountant. Because he cannot pay his current attorneys, Coburn is asking the court to handle the dispute over the unpaid legal fees. Coming back to the fight, in an email to USA Today, Callaghan thinks Biden agreed to the showdown “in jest.” At the same time, he also said that if both of the Trump brothers confirmed, then he’d be “more than happy to facilitate.”
On the Callaghan’s Channel 5 tour, Hunter Binden, who was once furious with Obama for a moment at a fundraiser, will be making a guest appearance. He’s expected to talk about his life and experiences, but if this fight really became a thing, Biden might be seen promoting it on the tour.
