Woman claims Brandy Melville employee blamed her for getting makeup on a shirt she never wore, then made her pay for it

A shopper recently shared a frustrating experience with an employee at a Brandy Melville store, claiming she was forced to pay for a shirt she never even put on. As reported by the Daily Dot, Haley explained in her video that she was browsing for work shirts and blouses when the situation unfolded. She picked up a white top to try on, but a sales associate quickly took it from her, claiming the item couldn’t be sold because it had makeup on it.

The employee then reportedly handed her a replacement shirt. When Haley checked that second top, she noticed it also had makeup on it. She claims that she wasn’t wearing enough makeup to have caused such a stain, and since she felt uncomfortable asking for yet another item, she decided to skip trying that one on entirely.

The situation reportedly took a turn for the worse when Haley left the fitting room. She went to the register to pay for the other items she had picked out, but the same employee approached her and insisted she had to buy the stained shirt.

Haley explained that she hadn’t even tried that specific garment on, but the staff member reportedly remained firm. Haley eventually felt forced to pay for the item. She claims she even had to put back another shirt she actually wanted to buy just to cover the cost of the one she was wrongly accused of damaging.

The reaction online has been significant, with the comment section filled with support for Haley. Many viewers were quick to criticize how the employee handled the encounter. One commenter wrote, “I’m so sorry; the workers there are literally so mean for like no reason at all. I’m crying with you, girl.”

Others took the opportunity to share their own negative experiences while shopping at the retailer. Another commenter added, “Brandy’s hiring process is literally based off vibes and looks. No wonder I hear all these horrible stories. It’s just one big high school clique up in there.”
