Not much has been said about the console release for Tekken 7. However Bandai Namco’s Marketing Manager hints the console release is coming next year.
David Fraile, Marketing Manager of Bandai Namco Entertainment Spain states in a video that Tekken 7 will be released for consoles in 2016. The announcement was made on the Madrid Games Week YouTube page.
You can watch Fraile’s comments from the 2 minute and 48 second mark. The announcement is in Spanish, but he does say that Tekken 7 should be out for consoles next year. Whether this is an estimate on his own part or official, it’s still the closest clue we have as to when the console versions are coming out.
It has been speculated the game will only be out for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles only. This is because the game is being built on Unreal Engine 4 so the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles won’t be able to handle the improved graphics.
The console release should be out in late 2016 possibly exactly one year from now. We would have hear something by now if the console version was going to be out in early 2016. Hopefully Bandai Namco makes an official confirmation very soon.
